Brush, in particular a toothbrush, with a soft elastic element
The invention relates to a brush, in particular a toothbrush, with a carrier plate on which fibers are placed, and a brush head, on which soft elastic elements are placed.
Brushes in which fibers or fiber bundles are attached to carrier plates, while their attachment ends are fed into holes of the carrier plate and are attached thereto, for example by melting the fiber ends to the rear, have the advantage that fiber bundles can be processed in almost all cross-sectional shapes. for such toothbrushes it is also referred to as an anchor-free process.
It is further known to provide brushes with cleaning elements of soft elastic material, which can take the form of pins, rods, plates or the like. To this end, in the first place in a two-component process, the soft elastic elements are applied to the carrier plate, while in one form the carrier plate is first of all molded from a first material component. . Subsequently, the soft elastic cleaning elements are injection molded with a second material component. These carrier plates are subsequently provided with fibers and then connected to the brush body, better said to the brush head.
The described two-component process according to the state of the art for the carrier plate is cumbersome, and due to the small connection surface between carrier plate and soft elastic element, a reliable connection, in particular with narrow or thin soft elastic elements, is not always guaranteed. It is also difficult to introduce the fibers through the soft elastic elements injection molded on the carrier plate.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a brush which allows anchor-free attachment of conventional fibers and at the same time soft elastic cleaning elements are reliably and simply attached.
To achieve this goal, a brush is provided, in particular a toothbrush, comprising a brush head with a front side and a rear side, and a front side. carrier plate placed from the brush head with a front side and a rear side directed towards the brush head, wherein the carrier plate has openings through which the fibers or fiber bundles are fed, and wherein the carrier plate has at least one recess, through which a part of the brush head faces the front of the carrier plate and a soft elastic element which protrudes through the interlocking part of the brush head through the carrier plate separated from the rear of the brush head and over the front of the carrier plate. According to the invention it is also provided that the at least one soft elastic element is anchored to the brush head. It is not necessary to use a two-component process for the production of the carrier plate. The part of the brush head which interferes with it leads to an improved anchoring of the carrier plate to the brush body. Moreover, a good decorative aspect is created because the other material of the interlocking part of the brush body is visible around the soft elastic element.
In a further embodiment, the brush head can be injection-molded on the fiber-coated plate. A part of the brush head hereby penetrates through the recess of the carrier plate up to the front of the carrier plate. The carrier plate is thus connected particularly reliably to the brush head.
Alternatively, the brush head can be manufactured separately and the carrier plate placed at a depth provided in the brush head and welded to the brush head or glued. A snap connection "1 between carrier plate and brush head is also possible. The brush head can moreover be manufactured in one piece with a brush handle or alternatively be connected to a brush handle.
In a further step, a soft elastic plastic mass, for example a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), is injected along the rear side of the brush head, whereby the part of the brush head which grips to the front side of the carrier element penetrates. The soft elastic plastic mass does not come into contact with the carrier plate.
The soft elastic plastic mass advantageously forms a continuous surface at the rear of the brush head.
Carrier plate and brush head can have different colors.
Advantageously, the part of the brush head which interferes with it is essentially tubular. This leads to a reliable connection between brush head and carrier plate, while the soft elastic mass can be sprayed through the formed tubes to the front of the carrier plate and further.
In one embodiment the cross-section of the interlocking part is essentially round, rectangular or oval. This is also visible visually from the fiber field. The cross-sectional shape is advantageously adapted to the shape of the part of the soft-elastic cleaning element protruding over the front side of the carrier plate. Advantageously, this is essentially rod-shaped or plate-shaped. However, other forms are also possible.
In one embodiment, at least one recess is placed on the edge of the carrier plate. The softly elastic cleaning element is therefore particularly active in the gum area.
In a further embodiment, at least one recess is placed within the region of the carrier plate. Here the soft elastic cleaning element is used in particular for tooth cleaning.
Both embodiments can be combined with each other.
In the preferred embodiment, at least two soft elastic elements are attached to the brush head such that the soft elastic mass forms a common soft elastic surface at the rear of the brush head. The anchoring of the soft elastic element is thus improved once again.
The soft elastic surface is preferably structured here, it can then be used, for example, for cleaning the tongue. However, the structuring can also serve optical purposes.
Further features and advantages of the invention appear from the following description of the various embodiments with reference to the drawings. In the drawings: - Figure 1 shows a section of a brush head; Figure 2 shows a top view of a brush head with carrier plate without fibers according to a first embodiment; Figure 3 shows a top view of a brush head with carrier plate without fibers according to a second embodiment;
Figure 1 shows a brush head 10 with a brush handle 12 in longitudinal section. The brush head has a rear side 14 and a front side 16. On the front side 16 of the brush head 10 a carrier plate 18 is placed. The carrier plate 18 has a front side 20 and a rear side 22. The rear side of the carrier plate 18 faces the brush head 10. The carrier plate 18 has openings 24 through which the fiber bundles 26 are fed. The openings 24 can have any shape, for example circular, oval or also angular. The fibers 26 are attached to the rear side 22 of the carrier plate 18 by melting the rear fiber ends. The melted fiber ends are indicated by reference numeral 28. Another attachment of the fiber ends is also possible.
The carrier plate 18 has a recess 30 which can take any shape. The recess 30 can for instance be circular, oval or also angular. A part 32 of the brush head 10 grips through the recess 30 as far as the front side of the carrier plate 18. The upper end of the part 32 can thereby end flat with the carrier plate connected to the brush head or project over a few millimeters or also about one millimeter stop under the carrier plate. The part 32 is essentially tubular.
A soft elastic element 34 from one. thermoplastic elastomer is attached to brush head 10. For example, it is injection molded. It passes through the brush head portion 32 at the front of the carrier plate. 18 and ends with its upper end at about the height of the "upper ends of the fiber bundle. Of course, the fiber bundles 26 must not all have the same length, and they must not all be placed at the same angle on the support plate surface. Similarly, it may be soft elastic element .3.4 protrude a few millimeters above the fiber bundles 26 or are a few millimeters shorter than the fiber bundles 26.
The soft elastic element 34 forms a soft elastic surface 36 on the rear of the brush head, which can be randomly structured. The piercing part 32 of the brush head prevents the soft elastic element from entering. contact with carrier plate 18.
The part of the soft elastic element 34 protruding from the part 32 of the brush head serves as a cleaning element and is essentially rod-shaped and conically shaped at the end. It is adapted to the shape of the recess and in another embodiment can also be plate-shaped. In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the carrier plate 18 is placed in a recess in brush head 10 and welded there.
Figure 2 shows a top view of a toothbrush head according to the invention. Corresponding parts are indicated on all figures with the same reference sign.
A carrier plate 18 is placed at the front of a brush head 10. Fiber is passed through openings 24, which are attached to the rear of the carrier plate 18 by, for example, melting the fiber ends to the rear. The fibers are not shown in Figure 2. The number and arrangement of the openings 24 is merely illustrative. The anchorless fiber fixing technology allows a high degree of variability in the arrangement of the fibers. Nor should the openings 24 be circular.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the carrier plate 18 has six recesses 30, so that the parts 32 of the brush head 10 engage towards the front side of the carrier plate. Six soft elastic elements 34a, 34b are attached to the brush head in such a way that, separated by the interlocking parts 32 of the brush head 10 by plate 18, they project from the rear of the brush head to the front of the carrier plate 18. The soft elastic elements 34a are herein represented with a cross-sectional shape, which ends flat with the outer edge of the brush head 10. The softly elastic elements 34b, on the other hand, are represented with a circular cross-section, they protrude over the outer edge of the brush head 10.
During manufacture, the brush head in this embodiment is, for example, injection-molded on the carrier plate.
All soft elastic elements 34a, 34b are then advantageously injection molded onto the brush head and form a common soft elastic surface on the non-visible back side of the brush head.
Figure 3 shows a further embodiment of a toothbrush according to the invention. In a brush head 10 a carrier plate 18 is again placed, which has openings 24. Also in Figure 3 the arrangement and the cross-sectional shape of the openings 24 are merely illustrative, the fibers fed through are not represented.
The carrier plate 18 in Figure 3 furthermore has two recesses 30 which protrude through the parts 32 of the brush head 10. Soft elastic cleaning elements 34 are placed within the part 32 of the brush head 10 and are adapted to the shape of the parts 32. The soft elastic elements 34 protrude from the rear side of the brush head 10 over the front side of the carrier plate 18 and are essentially exactly the same length as the fiber bundle that is not shown in Figure 3. However, the soft elastic cleaning elements can also be shorter or longer then the fibers.
Advantageously, also in the embodiment according to Figure 3, the soft-elastic elements 34 on the rear side of the brush head 10 are formed as common soft-elastic surfaces. A particularly good anchoring of the soft elastic cleaning elements is hereby achieved. The parts 32 protruding from the carrier plate 18 have the same color as the brush head 10 and can be color-matched against the color of the carrier plate 18. Since the soft elastic cleaning elements 34 are not attached to the carrier plate but to the brush head, the carrier plate can 18 can be easily attached to the brush head 10.
It is again possible here for the brush head 10 or the entire brush body to be injection-molded on the fiber-supported carrier plate 18. When the brush body is injection-molded on the fiber-coated carrier plate 18, the plate with brush is placed in a spraying tool for this purpose and injection-molded on the brush body. Plastic mass penetrates the recesses 30. A passage is left inside the recesses due to the suitable shape of the spraying tool. With recesses placed inside the carrier plate, a substantially tubular part is formed. The brush head 10 is then sprayed on with the soft elastic material. In addition, the TPE flows through the cleared transit. A soft elastic cleaning element is formed. It does not come into contact with the carrier plate 18.
Brush designs are of course also possible, in which more than one carrier plate is used.

Claims (13)

Brushes, in particular toothbrushes, comprising a brush head (10) with. a front side (16) and a rear side (14), a carrier plate (18) placed at the front of the brush head with a front side (20) and a rear side (22) facing the brush head (10), the carrier plate (18) has openings (24) through which the fibers or fiber bundles (26) are fed, and wherein the carrier plate (18) has at least one recess (30), through which a part (32) of the brush head (10) faces the front of the carrier plate (18) and a soft elastic element (34) which through the interlocking part (32) of the brush head (10) is separated by the carrier plate (18) from the rear side (14) of the brush head over the the front (20) of the carrier plate.

The brush of claim 1, wherein at least one recess (30) is disposed on the edge of the carrier plate (18).

The brush of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the engaging portion (32) of the brush head (10) is substantially tubular.

A brush according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein at least two soft elastic elements (34) are attached to the brush head (10) such that the soft elastic mass on the rear side (14 ') of the brush head has a common soft elastic surface. (36).
